It's a group (or even a single person) who is dedicated to engaging with shelter dogs as often as possible. Each crew has several different roles which are all important. There are no limits to a Crew's size or number of coordinators, the more the merrier!
No Cuddle Crew can operate without a Coordinator. They are the ones contacting the rescues and communicating with other Crew members about where and when to show up for small and large events. The Coordinators will also work directly with the Cuddle Pirates to help coordinate special events and encourage everyone to post pictures and videos of the dogs having a great time.
Shelter dogs often are confined to small areas for extended periods of time and when they get out some of them want to RUN!!! If your crew has people with the ability to run with the dogs you'll quickly see how much fun the dogs are having! Runners are also great for handling the larger dogs who really like to pull on their leashes.
Walking as many dogs as possible is really the core function of every Cuddle Crew. If you can walk, you can walk a dog. The Coordinator's responsibility is to match the right person to the right dog to make it an enjoyable experience for everyone.
This job is for everyone! After a solid run or walk, there's nothing better than a good cuddle with a happy dog. You'll find them super enthusiastic and thankful for the attention. If you do it once, you'll be a Cuddle Pirate for life!
